Licensed Psychology
It's a privilege to serve you!
• I will accept some insurances, and you can ask for a superbill to attempt reimbursements if I do not bill them directly.
• I use DSM diagnoses and treat mental illness.
• I keep records for up to 7 years after our work together. Confidentiality is based on HIPAA and regulatory standards for psychology. I am a mandated reporter for abuse of minors, elderly, and dependent persons. I must also conform to current standards regarding your safety and the safety of others if you are considering self-harm or harm to others.
• A doctor/patient relationship is established and somewhat permanent. It is a relationship of presumed power and privilege by me over you. You can report me to your state Board if you think I have violated a law or code or abused my power or privilege.
• I will not treat you when you travel to places where I do not hold a license.

• I do not treat conditions but offer my education and experience from numerous fields to help you identify and pursue goals in your life.
• I keep no records and you can even use a fake name. I disclose nothing about our work together to anyone without your approval. I use my common sense if a loved one is worried about you.
• There is no presumed difference in power. We operate as equals. Our relationship is not defined as doctor/patient, nor as my having privilege or power. If you are unhappy there is no Board to appeal to, only your common sense for whether to continue with my services.
• We can talk regardless of where either one of us is in the world.
