I can win $250?

Society is in big trouble and I think we need to look past politics, laws, legislatures, and law enforcement to bring the solutions. I want to mobilize ordinary PEOPLE to be the difference – and it has to be voluntary or it won’t work.

My goal here is to get your help in this great campaign for humanity while unleashing your special creativity. Working alone I cannot do all the work that I believe needs to be done. And frankly, I do not possess the gifts that you bring. Are you aware of your gifts? This world was not the same before you and has not been the same with you in it nor will be the same when you leave it.

So, yes, I’m going to provide financial rewards for your creativity and I hope you’ll grow it all into some huge tree of personal and societal abundance. In the meantime I’m going to put your work on t-shirts and mugs, and hopefully change society one load of laundry at a time. I hope you’ll play along.

Below I will name each creative challenge I am having. I will share what I hope to express. And what I have so far. Then an invitation for you to do better.

Problem #1: The Great Zone-Out. Flat on Our Backs.
If you walk through any town in America today I think you will see signs of poverty, despair, conflict, neglect, abuse, exploitation, and drug use. The complete opposites of those are streets that are bustling with beauty and energy, nice homes and gardens, productivity, growth, abundance, togetherness, and joy. I see addicts as fish caught on hooks. The problem is far bigger than "drugs" and it's really a mentality of people taking time-outs from the pains and challenges in life. They turn to drugs for help in coping but it's like a drowning person grabbing a floatie with a hole in it instead of climbing out of the water into a boat.

My Solution: Boycott Drugs
I think we need a massive campaign to boycott numerous forms of escapism, beginning with marijuana. Why marijuana? Because it has become such a symbol of the mentality that is crippling society. But in reality I also mean the "hard" drugs of meth and heroin. Traditionally, boycotts have been about protest. I think it's time to protest what has become of our society. I think it's time to stop rewarding drug cartels and all the violent abusive trade that occurs. We need to reward good products coming from other countries and stop rewarding the harmful things that are taking people down.

What I have so far:
I can't decide if it's better to tell people my "answer" or to simply point out that people are like insects on their backs and can't get up, and challenge them to figure out what needs to change. Or maybe the image of insects on their backs is too harsh? And people certainly don't want to give up their finally-legalized marijuana. But I don't want "more laws" to be the answer. I respect choice and the marketplace of ideas. I just want people to actually win in life and stop being unrealistic and getting derailed from true success.

Self-control has to start somewhere. Should it be french fries? How are we going to turn around a society full of weaklings who are unable to practice any form of voluntary self-denial? I'm not hopeless, some people do eat their vegetables and some even get their homework done and go on to live lives of great freedom and productivity. But too many act too freely too soon and then suffer decades of confinement, whether literally in prison or the many whose lives are so small due to addiction. Click below for larger images.
