Common Scents

It’s trendy now to remind each other to stop and smell the flowers. Smell the coffee. The bacon. This advice is not wrong. It’s a timeless balance to depression and burnout. It fits my ongoing conviction that people suffer a lot because of imaginary and mental things when often we have everything we need for the day. Focusing on tomorrow’s problems is a choice not an imposition. I’m all for planning and taking action when there are actual things to be done. But the hand-wringing should be converted into enjoying what is close at hand today. Not in some perverse opportunistic way. My philosophy is based on lining up with the Being from which we received our being. Enjoy the comforts that come along the way, for the way is arduous enough already.
