The Tasks of a Cancelado

So like, I know I have not been canceled yet, but that day is coming. It’s only a matter of time before my efforts at dialog and humor are considered hate speech. Or my efforts at inclusion and understanding of perpetrators is considered too radical. Plato’s cave allegory continues to fit the sad exemplars we see around us. And efforts to enlighten can be very embarrassing for people who hold salaries over the enforcement class.

I don’t know what all the answers are, but I’m starting to ask a lot of questions. We may be living in a growing prison of thought, and I’m quite likely to get shanked. I hope to express a number of things before I perish in case they help other rebellious minds take the ball further.

To make good on the title above, let’s consider that many of us are perhaps lured by seemingly well-intentioned educators, employers, clergy, and civil servants. But perhaps there is an ulterior motive, or a less-than-welcome reaction if we don’t appreciate the fine wine they’ve cooked up. Several recent experiences are reminding me of a book in which a number 2 for Stalin gets killed by the very system he helped develop for so many years; I can’t remember the name. Is this all revenge for some hurt we caused others? It’s so hard to differentiate actual hurt from official hurt; the things we’re “supposed’ to be upset about. Many cures are worse than the disease. There is much injustice in the justice system. While I’m sticking my neck out, some construction delays may not be on the up and up. But who am I to fight corruption?
